Abby Nash

 From 1991 until 2005 Abby taught as a full time Lecturer at the Cornell Hotel School (1997 promoted from Visiting Lecturer).  There he created and taught two Wine in Culture and History courses, the only courses of their kind in the United States.  He has also taught Introduction to Wines, Beverage Management and Introduction to Culinary Arts,  and he has taught Restaurant Management, Beverage Management, and Food and Wine Pairing in the School's Professional Development Program.

 Beginning 1997 and every summer since then, Abby has taught the wine course for Cornell Adult University.  In 2006 he created and has since taught a unique course for CAU, Heavenly Matches, Earthly Delights: Wine and Food Preparation and Pairing.  This class marries culinary instruction and wine appreciation.  In 2007 Abby led the 1st CAU Wine Study Tour group to Bordeaux.  The Burgundy trip counterpart is scheduled for September 2008.

 Abby has conducted wine presentations for, among others, The New York Wine and Culinary Center, Meeting Planners International, the International Association of Assembly Managers, the Greek Food and Wine Institute, Cornell Clubs and Cornell Society of Hotelman chapters.  He is a restaurant consultant for wine list development and training; and is active in local wine tasting groups.  Abby has also judged for wine competitions on over a dozen occasions since 1986; and regularly attends conferences such as the New York Wine Experience and Monterey Wine Festival.

 In 1984 opened Abby's Restaurant & Catering as owner chef, which he sold in 1990. He has also taught cooking classes locally; taken classes with Marcella Hazan and other notable chefs; cooked professionally from 1976-1990; written wine columns for local newspapers; conducted televised cooking series; made guest appearances on syndicated radio programs; and attended La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine, Cordon Bleu and L'Academie du Vin in Paris.

 His hobbies include collecting wine, food and wine books, and wine antiques.
