LVI 2012 Finger Lakes Excursions
Welcome LVI 2012 Attendees, Family and Friends!
Broaden your conference experience with unique tours given by Experience! The Finger Lakes. We are offering two tours that give you a "taste of the Finger Lakes" during the heart of the beautiful foliage season.
Waterfalls and Wine: Trek & Taste
Monday, October 8th - 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Here is your chance to experience two of the region's
most famous attractions: our waterfalls and wineries. First, learn why "Ithaca is
Gorges". Enjoy one of the Finger Lakes most famous falls up-close-and-personal
in its full autumn regalia, with a 3/4 mile easy walk to the base of
Taughannock Falls. You will receive a guided interpretive hike along
the gorge trail learning how the glaciers carved out the gorges
hundreds of thousands years ago.
After a boxed lunch in the park, we will transport you
to two favorite stops along the Cayuga Wine
Trail. Our first stop will
be Bellwether Hard Cider, the only Cidery on the Cayuga Wine Trail. You will sample wonderful examples of this classic American beverage: from
sparkling
to still, and dry to sweet. Our second stop will be Sheldrake Point
Vineyard, where you will taste an array of classic Finger Lakes wines,
including Riesling and traditional Ice Wine.
The tour departs from the Cornell Law School at 10:00 am and returns by 4:00 PM.
Price: $75 per person if reserved prior to September 1, 2012, $85 per person if booked after September 1st. Boxed lunch included in tour price. Pre-registration and confirmation is required for this tour. Space is limited.

Waterfalls and Glass: Corning Museum of Glass and Watkins Glen Hike
We start our day first by exploring the magical Corning Museum of Glass.
At The Corning Museum of Glass, glass isn't just for looking at or
looking through. During your visit, you will explore, research, touch, and interact with glass. You will receive a guided tour that
explores the Contemporary Glass Gallery, one of the best
collections in
the world of contemporary glass art; witness a hot glass show where you
will experience a live, narrated glassblowing demonstration; and
experience the Glass Innovation Center filled with interactive high-tech
science and technology exhibits.
After lunch at the Museum Cafe, we will head to Watkins
Glen State Park to enjoy the beautiful gorge trail that traverses along
winding paths and steps, through stone tunnels, over bridges through
rainbows and behind waterfalls. This hike involves 1.5 miles of going
down and up lots of steps. Guests must be in moderately good physical
shape. Wear comfortable, water-resistant walking shoes, as the trails
can be wet and somewhat slippery in places. Click HERE to inquire about reserving this tour.
