Broaden your conference experience with unique tours given by Experience! The Finger Lakes. We are offering two tours that have you experience sustainability in action within the Finger Lakes.
"Ithaca is Green" Sustainability Tour Friday, Nov. 13th - 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM OR Saturday, Nov 14th - 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM
For the past two years, Ithaca has been named in the top 100 Best Green Places to Live! This is due to a large supporting network of people and organizations committed to long-term sustainability of our beautiful region and beyond! On this tour, you will visit places that help define Ithaca as one of the most progressive regions in the country dedicated to sustainable living. Stops on this tour include:- Ithaca College – Learn about Ithaca College’s sustainability
efforts including their two Platinum LEED buildings. The Ithaca College School of Business is the first facility for a college or university business school in the world to be a platinum LEED certified.
- Ecovillage at Ithaca - A world-renowned cooperative community
that showcases a wide range of low-impact, sustainable lifestyle options. On this tour you will learn about how the community members live satisfying, integrated lifestyles that provide an attractive alternative to suburban sprawl.
Motherplants - Visit this beautiful nursery that is dedicated to growing plants for green roofs and walls. While touring their facility you will learn why green roofs and walls are popping up all over the country, from New York City, and Chicago, to Seattle.
The tour departs from Barton Hall on the Cornell University campus at 12:30 pm and returns to Barton Hall at 3:30 pm.
Price: $40 per person if reserved by October 13, 2008, $50 per person if booked after October 13th. Pre-registration and confirmation is required for this tour. Tour limited to 54 guests.

Between the Lakes Sustainability Tour Sunday, Nov. 15th - 10:00 PM - 3:30 PM
For those who have the opportunity to stay in the area for an extra day, this expanded-format tour offers a small group of guests, a more indepth, up-close, and personalized look at the large supporting network of people and organizations committed to long-term sustainability of our beautiful region and beyond! On this tour, you will visit places that help define Ithaca and the Finger Lakes as one of the most progressive regions in the country dedicated to sustainable living. Stops on this tour include:
EcoVillage at Ithaca - A world-renowned cooperative community that showcases a wide range of low-impact, sustainable lifestyle options. On this tour you will learn about how the community members live satisfying, integrated lifestyles that provide an attractive alternative to suburban sprawl. Lunch provided in Community Center.
On Warren Pond Farm - A small self-sustaining, third-generation family farm that raises American bison for breeding stock. Visit with Jill and Sam who take pride in their homegrown energy from solar panels, windmills, and a waterwheel.

- High Point Farms – Fpr our last stop we will visit High Point Farms, a farm that specializes in high-quality, grass-fed beef
from Scottish Highland cattle. See the herd and learn about the differences and benefits of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats. High Point's products are available for purchase at the farm.
